Our Elders

Dan Jackson

Dan is married and has two children. He felt called to work with youth via coaching and teaching, so he returned to college and earned a degree in education. He spent the next 30 years teaching/coaching at his alma mater, Crescent High School. He has taught about 10 different subjects and coached football, basketball, golf and served as Athletic Director. He sponsored a Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle for 18 years. He has also served as a Ruling Elder at Christ Church since the first Session was established.

“I became a Christian during my early teen-age years and was especially hungry to grow after completing a 4-year enlistment in the USAF.”

Dennis Burt

Dennis is a charter member and has served as a teacher and elder for most of his +26 years at Christ Church. He is the father of five children: Michael, Ellie, Ginny, Holly and McCrea. Dennis values the sound doctrine, spirit-filled worship and loving fellowship of Christ Church. Professionally he owns and manages Brandmark, Inc., a packaging and labeling company that he founded in 2000. (Gal. 6:17 …for I bear on my body the brand-marks of Jesus.)

One of his favorite verses: Phil. 2:12-13 …. work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Michael Perry

Michael is married to the beautiful Drucilla. They were married in November of 1997. Michael has 3 grown sons: “Dueri”, Michael jr and Sterling. They all live abroad. Michael joined Christ Church in 2009.

“God’s presence was so powerful in this place. I knew this was where He wanted me.”

Before being called as an elder, Michael served as a deacon for 2 years and he continues to work in the sound booth on the overheads for Sunday Morning Service.

“The Lord has been a patient and gentle teacher throughout my life. So whatever the Lord desires to do in me; I want, always, to have the courage to say ‘yes Lord’.”

One of my favorite passages in Scripture is Roman 5:8.

“It expresses God’s rich love, His tender mercy, the desperate state of man and the miracle of rebirth.”
